Sheri, Diane, and Barbara stand united in the mission of Artist's Jewel Box . They are dedicated to supplying quality casual yet striking jewelry. Sheri is based in the Chicago area, Barbara is in Southern Oregon, and Diane is now located in a suburb of Denver.
Diane creates her designs as Velia D. She is well known in the Lake Tahoe art community where she was active with the Tallac Association and instrumental in organizing and operating the association's gift shop. Her jewelry and other creations can be found at many local shops and galleries and are always in high demand. Recently relocated to the Denver area, she has continued creating her jewelry designs and exhibiting her various lines at jewelry and craft shows in Reno, Tahoe, and Denver.
Barbara has been involved in making and selling soaps for a number of years and has recently started selling the jewelry she has designed for family and friends. She and her husband Tom own the Eells Mountain Designs firm which makes and distributes Barbara's home made soap products, her jewelry designs, and Tom's woodworking creations. They live on the Southern Oregon coast and take advantange of the recreational opportunities the area has to offer when they aren't busy at work.
Sheri is a retired high school math and physics teacher. She enjoys knitting and crocheting but is best at mathematical and computer technology. She lives in a Chicago suburb with her chiropractor husband and is waiting for him to retire so they can take some time to see the country.
Beth has recently joined our group and brings over 20 years experience in working with wire, beads, stones and other natural materials in her designs. She has been crafting and designing jewelry and wares influenced by the various places she has lived and visited. Most notably, she is inspired by both the sea and beach, as reflected in many of her designs. In the Chicago area now, Beth manages a law firm downtown, raises her two children and hosts a website called www.wiredbeadworks.com.
This Artist's Jewel Box website is dedicated to the memory of Sheri's aunt Arlene F. DuMond (1922-2007). It was due to Arlene that Sheri met both Diane and Barbara. Arlene's life and career were dedicated to the pursuit of art -- whether jewelery design, costume and stage design, sculpture, or theatrical acting and directing. She led a creative and active life and she is missed. Artist's Jewel Box is a way of remembering.
